My dear family celebrated my birthday: 52!

It all started with a sweet card from my honey. Right there at my mirror and sink. THEN, the TOT surprised me with her card. OH the joy of being loved by two of my favorites.

What more is to come?
Well, first, the kiddo wants to reach her reading goal, so she is constantly reading! In the car…in bed…at the kitchen counter.

The beauty of the day was I didn’t have to cook! Nope. I would have my dear mama come over and we’d play board games, gifts, and Chik-Fil-A. That is a deal!

Mama came over and we played some EXPLODING KITTENS. I exploded first round, so I helped Tot. Daddy ended up winning as usual. THEN….we did some gifts. But first, Coopy needed a hug.

He needed to give me his card. WOOF!

And the TOT?
She just needed to be her cute self.

OK, one more.

Mom gave me an amazing card that she created herself. I couldn’t stop kissing it!

She is so creative!
My HHH spoiled me with this adorable card!

We will celebrate later with a staycation WINK WINK. (Thanks MAMA!)

The Tot? Oh the Tot. This card!

What she wrote? OH MY!
I’m her “Pearmama” HEEHEE

Gotta love the lack of spaces. Changes the whole meaning!
I’m her best friend. (someday, I hope to be; now, I’m honored to be her mommy)> AND I marred the best dad. Lucky guy, me “marring” him and all.

AND…OH, dear. I am asked to go love a bull. That is a wonderful request. (Little does she know I’m a Taurus).

Tot, you made my day.

And, you are going to kill me! Black and white? This little horse is so delightful though.

Family, I felt so loved. SOOO Loved. I love you MAMA, HHH, and TOT. You truly make me feel like a queen.

Comforting Coopy

It’s a full-time effort, you see.

Case in point. Cooper likes to STILL hide his bones under the couch. We have to comfort him because he can’t be rewarded with these antics.

His innocent face.

We know your game, little guy. That cute face won’t do any good.

Well, it does for Tatum. She loves to read to him in his favorite sunny spot.

He’s not sure about this.

He patiently waits for someone…anyone to play with him. (vs. waiting for any morsel of dinner to drop as I prepare it).

Ok, sweet boy. I’ll comfort you now. Fireworks (this particular evening) made him howl, so I cuddle with him while I read.

It’s a hard job, but someone’s got to do it! 😉

Date night stay cation-style

My honey and I got to go out the other night.

Mama graciously watched Tot which is a win all around. Mama gets to be loved on by Tatum; Tatum gets to love on Mama and eat her delicious food. My honey and I get to be together for a few hours. We decided to stay in and have dinner and other. Wink wink.

I love you Mama! Thank you for watching the Tot.

Window Pains

I’m making dinner and I hear a huge THUMP against the window. I’m wondering what the noise is so I send Tot over to peak outside the window and she sees…..

WHAT!? We both were devastated. He looked like he was still breathing, but we weren’t sure how hurt he was.

I went back to making dinner while Tot sat with him. She wanted to bring him inside, but I said she would have to nurse him in the outdoors.

So, she brought him some crackers and spoke kind, healing words to him.

About every ten minutes, she checked on him, and low and behold, about three hours later….

He seemed to be getting better and next thing you know it….

He flew the coop or our patio so to speak; right in front of Tatum’s eyes. She felt so grateful that she had loved on him. I do believe she saved his life.

Later, we looked him up in our bird book.

Perhaps a house finch?

Whatever you were, little guy, we are glad you are aerial again!

IDEA night Monday: MAY!

Our monthly tradition. Second Monday of the month, I try to gussie up the dinner and make something delicious! We come together for our ideas, and this month did not disappoint.

We started out going on a mini field trip to the backyard. Daddy shared his plans of making an outdoor kitchen. He drew it up and showed us his plans. MAN, he is so talented and so creative! He could easily be an architect. He’s ours at least. WINK WINK.

Then we came in to our salmon and fingerling dinner. The plates gave it the fancy feel, you think?

They look excited to partake.

Since Daddy shared already, (his idea counted for more than one!) Tot was next. She shared some robot building ideas. Very animated I might add.

I will get further instruction on what this all means later. I must know.

I do like the trip ideas! Either way, she is constantly thinking of inventions and creative ways of doing things.

Me…well, I wanted to just reflect on how we are doing on our ideas! Each month, we are implementing a few of them, and for this I am grateful.

I also had a few other ideas:

Summer…I discussed more serving ideas; I want to revisit our prayer box; recipe ideas?; family craft day, and perhaps a few trips in our future.

Mine were not as flowery this month, but I’m all about making our family more connected. That is so fun for me!
Another Idea night success! Until June, let’s see what we implement. I love you, Hays!

The JOY of being a MOMMY!

Caps all over the place. Why? Because I LOVE being a mom. More caps, I know.

First, we greeted at church Sunday morning. That always brings me so much joy! Why? Because we get to love on others and make them feel welcome and loved.

On our way out, we stopped for a pic. Oh, the smiles.

I love you too!

Awww shux!

The day was so nice. I got to go swimming and rest a bit. I also got to look forward to having a family dinner with Mama. I didn’t have to cook! We got take out. Now, I LOVE to cook for my family, but a night off is always welcome.

Mama came over and gave me lots of love.

Tatum couldn’t wait for me to open my gifts since we’d be using one of them..hint hint.

How FUUUUUUN! I game! Ok, we are playing this. But then….. Daddy said he had to buy this since we are such Dogman fans. Hmmmmm…this looks fun too!

But, we decided on the Labyrinth. GOOD GIFTS GUYS!!!

They are verrrry focused. Mama is strategizing, and Tatum is chomping at the bit to take her turn. Daddy is thinking. I can feel his wood burning. And Coopy? He’s a bit needy, so I plop him on my lap.

Not smart since he just wanted to play the game too. Down you go, Coop. He awaits the drop of something. Anything! Or maybe he’s just pouting?

Tot and I take a selfie break! Smile!

Dinner is ready! So grateful for salads from Wildflower.

After dinner and many wonderful stories from Daddy, The cards abounded and the appreciation overflowed!

MAMA first. We love you so very much!!!

Then Tot wanted to give me this card that comes ALIVE. I spun “BIG HUGS!” Yay me!!

She also spoiled me with some awesome trinkets (Thank you, Daddy).

Jeremiah 29:11. A favorite. He KNOWS our plans. We trust.

More?? Yep. I’m spoiled.

My honey got me the sweetest card ever!
Look at that happy couple on the front. Here’s a kiss for you, my love! (oh, and I get a bonus one from the TOT!) BLESSED!

Now, Tot had been working on some Mother’s Day crafts at school; she was very secretive all week. Now I know why!
WOWWW!!!
Her thumbs surround the picture. Thumbody loves me!

And then the pinky has to get involved. All the little lightning bugs were her pinky. Extra cute.

And the note inside.

Thank you, Family. You make being a MOM the best job in the whole world. I love you MOM too!!! You modeled for me the kind of mom I wanted to be. LOVING.
