Just call her Muscles.

The gym I have been working out at for years does not allow minors. You have to be 14 before you can work out and that is WITH an adult.

I called and found a gym that would allow a 12 year old to work out! Mountainside Fitness here we come!
We joined, and I got her 10 training sessions with a personal trainer (they had a Black Friday deal)

So, I ended up taking her through a few compound lifts. Oh, the mommy is proud.

Squats!

ALLLL The way down. Great form!!
Now, deadlifts straight leg

YES!!
Now, let’s do some reverse lunges.

Look easy, but not so much!

WOOHOO!
Now, chest press. Dumbells..they feel light but not so easy when you have proper form.

GREAT WORK!
Now, let’s work the back and shoulders. Lat pull down and some rows.

She’s huffing now!
She wanted to do some kettle bell squats and then work the rower.

Stretched and AAAAHHH
So great, Taties! Love that we can do this together.

Goodbye Brady! Hello Kirby? (still iffy on that part)

No, we don’t have the money for a new car, but I don’t have the money to keep Brady since I see it’s going to be a money drain. You see, it keeps losing value each day I keep it. Plus, I see that the resale will not be much, and it’s only going to decrease.

I have missed my CRV, and they just came out with the new HYBRID TOURING CRV’s. WOWWWW! And for the money, you just can’t beat what you get. I worked it out with our budget, and it made sense to invest in one.

  1. Hondas don’t depreciate as much as other cars
  2. We’ll save a bunch on gas
  3. The demand for the white Touring (top of the line) is extremely high (they can’t keep them on the lot)
  4. CRV’s are tried and true and they last forever.

It was a done deal. Right Honda would give me a HIGH PRICE for my Bronco, therefore I couldn’t pass it up.

Goodbye Brady!

Tatum couldn’t wait either because she has little room in this supposed large vehicle. HMPH

We headed to Right Honda after my honey came with me earlier in the week to see this lovely specimen.

WE DID IT!
Tot, what do you think?

We named him Kirby. Not sure yet if it fits.

BUT I LOVE HIM!! He only has:

I’m so very grateful

I LOVE THE INSIDE! Grey and black leather.

Ok, thank you Jesus for my present.

Tatum Hay has a channel!

Despite my reservations, Tatum and I agreed she could make some videos for YouTube. It morphed into a channel, and now she has about 31 subscribers (!!! I KNOW! (was 29 yesterday)

15 videos

33 shorts

Already this many views for REBORNS:

Coopy!

Rio!

And just being funny! (which she is..she makes up these ‘sibling’ videos, and her imagination shows through).

I’m not sure how I feel about it, but I do know it’s an outlet for her creativity and allows her to “act” with imagination. Therefore, I love it.

I’m keeping my eye on this endeavor. In the meantime, it’s pretty fun.

I LOVE YOUR BRAIN!

Family Day at Honeywell with Daddy.

Honeywell Family Day – Nov, 2024

Tatum and I decided to check out Honeywell on family day this year to see where Daddy works.  When we arrived, she noticed the perimeter fence with barbed wire and the guards at the sign-in table (are we allowed to go in Daddy?).  Sure, stick with me honey!

After we walked in, we had a photo op right away to start things off!

Then around the corner were all the activities including bounce houses and inflatable obstacle courses.

The Honeywell fire department was set-up with all sizes of firefighting equipment and firefighting suits so the kids could suit up and feel what’s it’s like to walk around.

Next, we went up to my office, actually, the desk I set at.  As you can see, it’s an open seating arrangement.  Doesn’t she look like a natural? She said, Daddy, I might want to work here too!

Next on our self-guided tour was the health club.  She was interested in trying out the machines.  The gym is not new to her, but she wanted to stay a bit and try some strength training exercises!

Well, with all this walking around we worked up an appetite and so we went to the cafeteria for a BBQ lunch.

After lunch, the last stop was the dunk tank.  Let me tell you, the kid than throw!  See the ball in mid-air?  Dunk – Success!

And Baxter the Bobcat, the Diamondbacks Mascot, congratulates her on her dunk tank bullseye!

What a great outing we had exploring Honeywell family day.  Thank you Tatum for making it a memorable day, maybe we’ll get to do it again next year!

Juliet! It’s you! Shakespeare display

We signed up for the WAX MUSEUM through Eastside Coop.

Tatum wanted to be Juliet from Shakespeare and display all of his work.

We arrived and noted the red star on the sidewalk!

And then the sea of wax figures! You had to push the button to hear what they would say.

We heard from President Reagan, Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth, the Lost Dutchman and of course Juliet!

So much fun!

Presenting at Northwestern Christian School! So grateful

The staff invited me (as a GCU professor and expert in writing) to present to their staff my presentation on Writing Across the Curriculum (to increase Critical Thinking Skills)

Tatum decided to join me! The joy and freedom of homeschooling.

YAY!!!
We arrived nice and early as they were wrapping up the speaker before me.

After, Tatum helped me hand out my papers and some notecards.

Getting ready!

She is ready too! I think she wants to say something! She loves to help out.

After we begin, we realize the sound is off, so we all migrate to a classroom. Thank goodness! I’m so much more comfortable without a mike…pacing and enjoying the audience.

Here are my objectives.

I hit my groove, and EVERYONE got involved. They even gave me a round of applause after! I was SOOO honored.

I collected post its of what they would adopt in there classroom to give them accountability.

I think they were really excited, and ALL I cared about was that they’d use it and help their students improve their critical thinking skills. It’s a lost art in our world especially after Covid.

I think they enjoyed. THANK YOU for this opportunity. Thank you, Tatum for helping me!
