Mama and me. Finally!

We missed celebrating birthdays and Christmas. The lockdown and the craziness of society limited all of our abilities to do anything social for a whole year. Now, I see the wisdom in some of this, but I don’t necessarily think it was all necessary.

Anyhoo, my mom and I finally got to go out to eat to celebrate and just be together. We really enjoy Fleming’s, and since both of us are on bland diets, it was a perfect choice. And…we got to get all cute. (which hasn’t happened in a while for me at least…my mom is always cute).

She bought a new cashmere sweater for our outing. Baby pink. My favorite. Thanks mom.

After removing our masks (when we walked in), we sat down and just relished being.

I love you mom. Thank you for taking me out!

We enjoyed talking about mom and daughter. I love that I get to be this for Tatum and give back. It’s the biggest fruit on my mom’s tree as well since she taught me how to be a great mom. I also appreciate her more than ever.

She thinks I’m pretty cute.

hmmmmm

We had steak, shrimp, salad, and potatoes. Perfect.

I love you immensely. May you continue to thrive in health and joy.

We celebrate Dr. Seuss despite crazy

Six Dr. Seuss books will be discontinued because of racist and insensitive imagery. This is the headline last week. HUH??? Dr. Seuss…racist?? Do they even know what that word means?

Well, although I don’t agree, and many many of us don’t, we are going to still celebrate his birthday. In fact, Mrs. Phillips, her 2nd grade teacher, is going to have a party today. YAHOO

So, Tot wore crazy socks today as part of the celebration.

Cooper is fascinated.

She also brought in this fun book too.

Not really sure what is wrong with these wonderful books but…. Aye aye aye.

I will keep them in my library. Thank you PVCP for being sane.

COVID Vaccine Part 2

She got it! Mama get her second one today, and we only had to wait 15 minutes for a reaction. She didn’t have ANY complications, and in fact, she felt great the rest of the day. Blessing!!!!

Family time: Sunday and Hay Happens!

Precious. Truly precious. I adore our time together because with the hustle and bustle of school and work, it’s hard to find enough space to include fun, frolicking and frivolity!

Tot always reminds Daddy or me how much she loves us. Here’s a sweet note I found next to the sink this morning before church.

It all comes back to Tatum when she is loving and giving. Just today, a lady brought her a bag of cookies from Trader Joes. The sweet lady just wanted to thank Tatum for being a greeter and bringing joy to her every week.

Now that is truly sweet!!

After some Daddy daughter time and some Sunday chores, we had a Hay Happens meeting, and we decided to begin a 40 days or prayer practice. We also discussed our gratitudes and future plans for a next HAA! More to come there.

Our game du jour was Exploding Kittens. We still love this game although it gives each of us heartburn and stress! Don’t worry, Daddy. You might not explode this time.

Tot had Elton John join our clan today. I introduced her to some of my old CD’s and she flocked right to this one. She’s been listening to it constantly all weekend. (sounds like someone I know (ahem..myself!)) Of course he sings “Rocket Man!”

Coopy didn’t get to play. He’s waiting his turn.

Later, I made I nice dinner of salmon, butternut squash, and bok choy/broccoli ginger stir fry. Tot’s salmon looks like a heart. (I love you, Tot!)

And..I love salmon!!! (Thank you, Honey, for buying it!)

What a fun day and night. I adore Sundays just because we get to BE together.

Daddy and I always finish our Sundays with a devotion.

Hay’s, stay tuned! We have a fun trip coming up. Until then, let’s live our verse:

“But always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.  Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thess 5: 15-18)

Daddy and the TOT!

Daddy and Tatum go out on most Thursday nights when I have my girl’s group, REACH. I adore my book group and the girls in it. They are my tribe!

BUT, the other serendipity is Tatum and Daddy get to go out to dinner and eat whatever she wants! That is Tot’s favorite part; well, actually, her favorite part is hanging with the Daddy. He adores her, and it’s no secret I do too.

This particular night was Wildflower and it was quite cold. Daddy, being the chivalrous type, lent her his jacket. All good and all protected. That is what Daddy’s do.

She is also glowing.

The next day, Daddy had to pick up Tot from school since I had a commitment at GCU. He brought her home quickly because his job is very demanding right now. As he conference called, she worked with Coopy in the office. I love how Cooper watches over everything this we do.

This is family. SMILE.

Staying put for our Anniversary

And it was glorious. No hotel. No fancy restaurant; just our palace (That is not a typo. I mean palace…which is our home!)

Doug spoiled me again. It all started with me dropping off the Tot to mom’s house. (Thank you, Mama!!)

When I returned,

OOH!!!
I had a bit of a scavenger hunt to go on. First, I had a card waiting for me, and inside my first clue.

Here it is! He proposed to me with this picture/puzzle. Now it hangs in our room.

Then… to the 1 Thess. verse

Now where? I love us!

Now to a fav pic:

Then to the music maker:

I played a little ditty with my little friend below.

Finally, to a piece of white which I may work on one day.

And what did I find? Let’s look Coopy!

Oh, how fun!
Now, we sit and enjoy our champagne and some music. Then it’s time to make magic in the kitchen.

Ahem…xcuse me! That is right, some scallops, steak and salad. The honey BBQ’d outside while I made the goodies inside.

Another card? SRSLY!

He bought out the store apparently. I so loved it!
I set the table in our new dining room. Isn’t it delightful?

Coopy joins us on his place.

You look so handsome, my love.

We enjoyed fun questions, convo and laughing a bit.

Then, aaaaaafter the after dinner (wink wink), I got a snack and Coopy just waited.

He really wanted to play, but we had other plans tonight.

Oh, Coopy.

Thank you, Honey for making me feel so special. I love you so much and can’t wait for the rest of our lives.

Just look up: I LOVE YOU!

Our living room has a special message. It’s symbolic of God speaking to us! All you have to do is be reminded to “Look UP!” Now, when you look up, you should know something.

I LOVE YOU.

This is what God tells us every day and we don’t even need to look up. However, it is His awesomeness that we are looking up at.

Or in this case…..

A red balloon. Yep, Like I said, our living room has symbolic messages.

This balloon did not want to stick around. Nope, it tried to escape.

Into yonder.

And it did not get too far. But it’s message is clear.

So, look up! And be reminded by this red balloon that….

May we be reminded all day every day to LOOK UP!

I love you.
