The JOY of being a MOMMY!

Caps all over the place. Why? Because I LOVE being a mom. More caps, I know.

First, we greeted at church Sunday morning. That always brings me so much joy! Why? Because we get to love on others and make them feel welcome and loved.

On our way out, we stopped for a pic. Oh, the smiles.

I love you too!

Awww shux!

The day was so nice. I got to go swimming and rest a bit. I also got to look forward to having a family dinner with Mama. I didn’t have to cook! We got take out. Now, I LOVE to cook for my family, but a night off is always welcome.

Mama came over and gave me lots of love.

Tatum couldn’t wait for me to open my gifts since we’d be using one of them..hint hint.

How FUUUUUUN! I game! Ok, we are playing this. But then….. Daddy said he had to buy this since we are such Dogman fans. Hmmmmm…this looks fun too!

But, we decided on the Labyrinth. GOOD GIFTS GUYS!!!

They are verrrry focused. Mama is strategizing, and Tatum is chomping at the bit to take her turn. Daddy is thinking. I can feel his wood burning. And Coopy? He’s a bit needy, so I plop him on my lap.

Not smart since he just wanted to play the game too. Down you go, Coop. He awaits the drop of something. Anything! Or maybe he’s just pouting?

Tot and I take a selfie break! Smile!

Dinner is ready! So grateful for salads from Wildflower.

After dinner and many wonderful stories from Daddy, The cards abounded and the appreciation overflowed!

MAMA first. We love you so very much!!!

Then Tot wanted to give me this card that comes ALIVE. I spun “BIG HUGS!” Yay me!!

She also spoiled me with some awesome trinkets (Thank you, Daddy).

Jeremiah 29:11. A favorite. He KNOWS our plans. We trust.

More?? Yep. I’m spoiled.

My honey got me the sweetest card ever!
Look at that happy couple on the front. Here’s a kiss for you, my love! (oh, and I get a bonus one from the TOT!) BLESSED!

Now, Tot had been working on some Mother’s Day crafts at school; she was very secretive all week. Now I know why!
WOWWW!!!
Her thumbs surround the picture. Thumbody loves me!

And then the pinky has to get involved. All the little lightning bugs were her pinky. Extra cute.

And the note inside.

Thank you, Family. You make being a MOM the best job in the whole world. I love you MOM too!!! You modeled for me the kind of mom I wanted to be. LOVING.

Speaking love through our words

I’m a logophile at heart. That means I love words for all of you logophiles out there!

Well, we practice this in our home, and my honey models this so well. Take a peak at the last few weeks of cards Tot and I have received.

This is the newest addition

LOVE THIS!!
Tot got one too. Lucky little lady. Her daddy loves her so much.

What about me?

Is this for me?

Oh, Coopy. This ball is too big for you. We’ll play with you after dinner.

Thank you for making our family so full of love. And words! XXOO.

DINO-MITE grades!

Yahoo! All that hard work on Compsoggy paid off. (Thank goodness she didn’t notice he has no arms. Oops.)

And the essay?

Dino-mighty!

That same Friday, she got back her spelling test too. Go TOT!

He provides: Gifts

He being my Savior and Lord. My Father. He is so good to me!
Just the other day, I was going for a walk, and I heard a specific bird; it’s my favorite!
Peach-faced love birds. I believe He put them in my path to remind me of HIS presence. Oh, how creative and lovely is His creation! Such reminders when we need them most.

The two lovebirds on the side reminded my of my LOVE and his love for me!

Then….this little gift. She is truly a light in our lives and in many!

Who is it mommy?

It’s the TOT!
Every Sunday, she lights up SBC as a GREETER! She lights up our home too.

She gives us gifts of her art from parables. ( A house that stands on rock and the prodigal son)

And lest we forget? Impossible to do so with this little guy. He so badly wanted to play with the horsies from the Kentucky Derby.

If only they could be my gift!

Truly truly the greatest gift is HIM but how we see HIM is through HIS wondrous provisions, and that is family. Thank you, Father.

He spoils me!

My hubby makes me feel so special. I received a kind of “promotion” at GCU. They gave me the highest title: Senior Adjunct Professor after I applied. Truly an honor.

Well my sweetie took me to Ruth Chris’ Steak House for dinner; that place is so fancy and special.

He gave me this lovely card!

And get a load of this beauty.

With the shrimp, it even is more delectable. It’s nearly perfect.

What a special evening. I love you, honey. I didn’t feel so hot that night, and by the end of the night, I was a new gal. Thank you for all you do for me HHH.

Tempe Time with the Tot and Swanee

All week, Tatum had Terra Nova testing. It is her first experience with standardized testing, and now she gets to look forward to this for ten more years. Good to start early!

So, since Friday was a half day, and she had already presented for her being Camper of the Week, we had her take Friday off so we could do some Hay Happening!

I rented a boat at Tempe Town Lake. More on that in a moment. First, we arrived right before our reservation only to be reminded how beautiful and vast the lake is!

What do you think, Tot?

Daddy and Tot!!

We headed over to our reservation….

And waited. Luckily, the weather was only about 75 degrees. Daddy was enamored with Tot’s pony.

Finally it was our turn, and we headed over to our little friend, Swanee. Boarded and headed out. Now, Tot could save anyone in the water, so she was allowed to remove her life preserver when we were out far enough.

And then we started to pedal.

And within 5 minutes, I hear….. I’m pooped!

Oh, Daddy, we only have 55 minutes left! Tot, would you steer?

I took one of me smiling. Do you know why? It was beautiful aboard, and I’m with my family. TobyMac is playing on our phones, and this made it even more delightful

Just look at that view!

Nothing like being out on the water.

After about an hour, we were definitely ready to dock. Pedaling for one hour and Tot steering would tire any family out!

Next stop, Brunch-o-rama at the Daily Jam.

Tot was fixated on the ValTrain on our way.

We waited for our food and enjoyed being together. The wait required us to be a bit silly since there is nothing to do while we wait. We never allow ourselves to be bored because as they say, “Boring people are bored.” Keep that imagination flowing!

We had a nice meal, and then headed home. Lovely morning and afternoon. I love these days off!

We look forward to our next adventure. Until then, truly every day is an adventure with these Hays!

Compsognathus “Dino”rama!

A what?? Yes, a Komp sog na thus. Can you say it slowly?
We learned so much about these little Dinos. She was assigned the smallest one in the bunch.

From the Jurassic Period, 150 million years ago, these dinosaurs are the size of a chicken. Yep, only about 11 inches tall and 6 lbs.

She was asked to complete not only a diorama, but also to write an essay.

We had fun creating the clay figure.

He fit perfectly in his little box.

Tot named him Compsoggy. His little smile warmed our hearts, and he adorned our countertop until she decorated the box. Now, Daddy got involved with the extra credit fossil.

He is all surrounded with love in his sunny, cheery environment now.

She worked hard on her report as well. She finished it while Dr. Ruiz was over at our house, so she read it to him. Now, mind you, she was told to add many flowery adjectives and adverbs. I think she accomplished this.

She insisted on reading the whole thing.

Now, this was so much fun to do with her. I can’t wait for her to present it to her class.
