We are in the process of finding out about Tatum’s height. The Dr. is having her take some tests so we can find out any information about Tatum’s height being a bit under normal. It may be just fine, but we must be safe.
So, today, we had the bone exam. Left hand.
What is that!? It’s a powerful camera which will look inside your hand! Isn’t God amazing!? He made every piece of her. A hand is such a masterpiece.
Tatum woke up with the stomach flu, and I have been fighting some virus for a while now. So, I asked my family if we could celebrate on Sunday.
Doug still loved on me too. He had a note for me to wake up to, and he bought me some flowers that keep on giving. My favorite kind! SUNFLOWERS!
I did also wake up to my favorite little finch who sings outside our door. Thank you, God, for my thinking of me!
He also had Daddy see some quail at our McCormick home. Daddy and child. LOVE IT! It reminded me of Tot and Daddy. Another present to me.
Cooper went to get groomed that day too. Doesn’t he look adorable. The two of them….I can’t even! Heart bubbles everywhere.
I had bought a new Apple Pencil (1st generation) for Tatum to use for drawing on the iPad. There’s this cool app called ProCreate, and she’s been having so much creative fun with it. Here are some of her creations.
She has so much fun on it, and she sure is getting good! After she finishes, she texts or emails them to us. She loves to share her work. I got this little treat too:
and a nice little sign with much bubble love.
We played Pictionary and just relaxed that night. I know there’s more to come, but I sure was grateful for just having my family.
It was our last day. So bittersweet! I actually will miss having her home. I’ll never get this back! Man, I can’t even describe how amazing it was. It was only a half day today so we had time to do some other things.
But first…
Let’s talk about the ZOOM yesterday. 169 books! Tatum got a big award today from her teacher. Mrs. Finnman, her first grade teacher, gave out awards today on ZOOM; it was a unique ceremony doing it virtually.
We read our last AR book this morning. I think we’ll continue in the summer with these, however. We’ll see. I dislike reading on the iPad though.
See her flower grow! I’m so proud of her efforts!
First, Tatum along with a couple of others got 100% on every Bible test. Weekly, they had to memorize a verse. (PVCP does this whole school weekly).
Her assignment today for Bible was kind of cool. I allowed her to do this without me. I wanted her to just answer from her heart.
Next, they always grant a character trait to each child. Mrs. Finnman believed Tatum had the gift of decisiveness and gave her the verse James 1:5. Yes, I do believe my sweetie is quite wise for her age and makes her opinions very strongly. I pray she continues to seek wisdom.
We will miss first grade, but we know the summer is around the corner and so is second grade. We love you Mrs. Finnman!
When I woke up on Mother’s Day, my sweet honey gave me a big squeeze and told me how much he loved me; great start to the day. Then, Coopy wanted a love rub to show his love.
Tatum told me to she had something in her room to begin my day. First, I couldn’t just walk in! She first had to fix her phonogram. Mrs. Finnman would be proud.
Tada!
and a little drawing of Coopy telling me….
You two make being a mom the best!
This is only the beginning. We decided to go on a bike ride since it was overcast and cooler. We wanted to visit our swan friend and get a bagel. On the way, we saw the most magnificent bird. Luckily we had the Nikon. I thought it was a woodpecker; I looked him up and he was a Yellow-fronted woodpecker. Look how beautiful.
Lookin right at me!
Remarkable.
After we got home, I visited my mom for a couple of hours. WHAT A BLESSING! With the quarantine, I haven’t spent any time with her. Tatum made her a card with only her fingerprints. First the front (from Snapfish)
What a great time. Ok, so when I got home, I received so many little treats. First, from Tot, a card.
Then from Coopy!
You wrote all this for me?
Aaaah…you’re the best!
Well, this was only the beginning. My honey spent the day doing physical labor to beautify our condo. Like….hanging blinds in our bedroom and cleaning it out. So kind.
Then, I had requested some time to play a game and grill out. I picked Pictionary because who doesn’t love to draw and read minds? Tot and Doug were a team, and Doug did not disappoint with his masterpieces.
Yes, just see this grand design of a weightlifter. The next Picasso.
They had so many gifts for me! I felt like a queen.
My favorite candle (from Hobby Lobby of course). Vanilla Orchid.
More?
Because I love lists. Oh, and what will I write with? Kindness cards to boot. How fun! Coopy, are you enjoying this?
Finally some pretty things. You never get too old for pretty things! Tot and I are planning our mani/pedi time tomorrow. (after Math of course).
Now, what could possibly be the piece de resistance to our evening? Grilled Octopus from my honey.
Tatum prayed for the octopus and asked God to forgive us for eating one of His octo-creatures.
It was delicious. And….I felt blessed, honored, and loved. Thank you family for the best Mother’s Day ever.
Every night, we play with Cooper. Now, it’s not just a little ball toss. It’s a full on contact sport with Cooper against us three. He is ready for action, and when he captures the ball, he’s immediately diving for cover. COOOOPER???
Nope, not coming out.
Finally, we’ll intercept the ball, throw it, and he’ll wait for just the right moment. At times, he’ll jump onto the couch.
Daddy is so grateful to get the ball. And Cooper stops for a love rub…..
AND…….. AND……
a……
Big smooch from Daddy. Heaven.
And when the night is nearing completion, he snuggles with the mommy. It’s a rough life.
