Making Monkey Monday Memorable and Mastering

It’s a Monday. Tot is off today due to Columbus sailing the ocean blue in 1492. So, it started with:

Mommy watch this:

The stools have become the monkey bars.

Coti, what do you think?

He just wants her to drop a blueberry or some oatmeal. This is pretty much what his kitchen job is.

That or this:

It’s a rough life.

Ok, onto our day.
We went skating and Tatum wanted now to show me her monkey ears.

When we got home, we found out she has a test on Friday on some sounds, spelling and math. So, now, it’s time to monkey around with making test prep fun!
I told her I’d be the teacher and she could be my student. I set up the white board on the chairs, and she asked if baby could be a student too.

We got our respective hats on:

And we are ready!

Ok, Tot: Write down this sentence: 3 + 7 =. Then answer it!

Then we did some spelling: YES!

a:

Here’s a tricky one! KISS:

I can’t think of a better Monday with my girl. Plus, we made test prep fun!  Monkeying around with my little monkey is truly memorable.

Baby, your stuffing is showing!

Eeks! Officially, he has his innards showing. What now, Mom!?
A needle and thread always does the trick.

She picked orange. Meet her new orange-nosed baby.

Nose to orange nose feels just right.

Thanks mommy for sealing him up with a kiss!

Through Tatum’s eyes

I decided to give Tatum access to a camera through my iPhone. We went to the aquarium to try out her ability to SEE what she could see.

The sloth, Squidney, was actively itching himself which caused him to fall asleep. It took him about 3 minutes to scratch with one arm, then he switched. Tatum took a video of the whole process. It was exhausting to watch this little guy move so slowly.

Then a close up of this black-nosed slow poke.

We moved on to more still creatures, but he wouldn’t hesitate to bite off her head. She snapped him before he would snap her!

She took many more, but these were her favorites. But of course the piece d’resistance was Coti. She had to feed him some of her play milk and strawberry cookies.

He looked more tired than the sloth.

OH, Tot. You have such an eye to capture the true emotion!

A No-Dull Torrentially Rainy Tuesday

Today, the rain began early early early in the morning, and it wasn’t supposed to quit until tonight! But, the Kindergartners were scheduled to go to Fire Station 27 and I was to chaperone along with a few other mommies and daddies

We were sure it would be canceled. But…. they wanted us to still come! So we fought the rain and flooded streets, and visited their fireman-cave.

There she is with Charlotte. They just loved their new hats.

Now it was time to board the truck.

Test out the water hose! Tyler, fire guy, had to hold it because it was stronger than 10 Tatums.

Now he showed us how he transforms into a firefighter in seconds. Boots go on first. The gloves last. Unbelievable how heavy their gear is.

We sure did enjoy going, Mrs. Holman. And we loved our class shirts they all created!

Now, when we got back to school, we found out school was cancelled due to the flood, so hooray! It’s a Tatie and Mommy day.

I gave her a new boy for her doll house. She wanted a little boy, and she deserved a new toy after her kindness on the field trip.

She played, I worked for a few minutes since I had a bunch to do and I wasn’t expecting her to be home with me.

Ok, now it’s time we did a puzzle. Corners and borders first, love.

Then she wanted to take pictures. She’s trying to master the close-up. This magna tile got the honor. It’s magna-ficient. haha.

She then colored a picture. And her coloring just is so…..well, colorful!

Then it was time to paint!

Ok, now we needed to celebrate our trip, so we would draw a firetruck (rulers for exacting), then we tested the new watercolor pencils. These things are so fun. You color with them then add water.

The rest of the day, she just made me laugh and laugh.

This kid of mine…  Not one dull moment. We made the BEST of our rainy day.
