IDEA March 2022

Another one! We love these nights because it means eating in the dining room, a nice dinner, and creativity!

Tot had a surprise for Daddy. She made him a baby to watch over, Oscar.

He will be a great Daddy for this little one. Are you both excited?

Maple glazed salmon, parsnip/sweet potato/carrot/beet fries, and salad!

Daddy always has wonderful ideas….house ideas and family fun…oh and food!

He has a surprise for us?

So grateful for you!

Taties again…fun ideas.

She was in a hurry to get her ideas in!

And me…mine were kind of repeats, but hey, they still apply!

We love these evenings. May the ideas become reality!

A New Dinner Blessing

We take our food for granted. It’s true! We are so blessed that before we eat, we often fail to recognize the luxury of having food on the table.

It’s time to be more MINDFUL of the blessings of our food!

We came up with a HAY Blessing before meals.

May we always be grateful!

Project Peace March 1-31

We all have areas in our life that need cleaning up. Sanctification is a process of becoming more like Christ, and we are all on this journey. I shared with Tatum that I wish I would have had some intervention as a kid; in other words, someone to come along side me and help me with my struggles. I didn’t let on to my mom that I was depressed. However, I really didn’t know the root or how to understand my emotions.

This would be a project we would do as a family, but more importantly, Tatum and I would spend 20 minutes a day on lessons to help her with emotions and actions that stem from them. Emotions are benign and actually very important, UNTIL they create a behavior that is ugly or destructive.

It all started with our discussion on the first day of her identity in Christ. She first has to understand WHO SHE IS and WHO GOD CREATED HER TO BE: His Child. His adopted Girl. His MASTERPIECE> created for good works. She is a light in the world. But, if she doesn’t own this, how can she act accordingly?

Here’s her notebook for homework each night:

She will read this card each morning to remind her before she proceeds to go through her day.

She is also keeping notes in her notebook.

Day 2 and 3 are about “PAW”sing before an action or word. Pause, think and pray.

We also are working on alternatives for NO and NO IT’S NOT…responses. When you don’t agree, Tatum, you can do it in a kind way.

Today, we are working on TAMING THE TONGUE. I squeezed some toothpaste out of the tube and she realized you can’t put it back in the tube. When it’s out, it’s out! We also read James 3:1-12. POWERFUL about the power of words and the small organ in our mouths. Just like a tiny spark can start a forest fire, so can ONE word break a heart.

If we focus on Phil 4:8, and fill our thoughts with ONLY GOOD, then hopefully what comes out of our mouths is ONLY GOOD.

More to come!
